Representative Tony McCombie first female elected as the Illinois House Republican Organization Chair

Springfield, IL — The Illinois House Republican Organization has elected State Representative Tony McCombie (R-Savanna) to be the HRO chairman for this upcoming election cycle in 2020.

“Illinois is in desperate need for reforms that will help move the state forward, and it is our responsibility to ensure that we are running the best campaigns and candidates to makes these reforms a reality,” McCombie said. “It is an honor to be elected as HRO chairman and I look forward to working with all members of the Republican party in winning more seats in 2020.”

The HRO chairman is responsible for overseeing the campaign operation of the House Republican Organization and will be integral in candidate recruitment and fundraising for the upcoming election cycle.

“As the Illinois Republican Party looks ahead to the next election cycle, Tony is a great choice to grow our party and bring great, electable candidates into the fold,” House Republican Leader Jim Durkin (R-Western Springs) said.
