The former Savanna mayor launched her bid for re-election at events with supporters in Rock Island and Whiteside counties. The announcement came at the Pinnacle Country Club in Rock Island and then at Happy Joe’s in Morrison.
McCombie identified education, job growth, public safety and strong constituent services as her top priorities in the legislature.
McCombie has always spoken openly about her frustrations with the legislative process in Springfield, especially after being accustomed to how much faster things moved at the local level as mayor. Fighting for meaningful reforms would be a priority in a third term, she said.
